Side keeps its warmth from April to November. The rest of the year is for those who prefer the coast to themselves.
The season at Barut Hemera runs long. The first swimmers are in the sea by late April, the last ones leave the water in November, and between the two the days change character month by month. None of them is wrong.
The gardens are at their greenest and the ancient sites are still empty in the mornings. Air around 22 to 28 degrees, the sea rising from 19 to 24. The pools are heated through the first weeks. Good for walking, for Side before the crowds, and for evenings that still need a light layer.
Hot, dry and bright: 32 to 35 degrees by day, the sea at 27 or 28. The hotel moves with it. Long afternoons at the beach, the slides busy, dinner after sunset, the shows late. The children's clubs run their full programme.
The sea holds its warmth longer than the air. September feels like a second summer, October is mild and clear, November still reaches 20 degrees on most days. The beach empties, the pools stay heated, and the light is the best of the year.
From December to March the hotel runs at a slower pace. Mild days around 15 degrees, the occasional rain, the spa and the indoor pool doing most of the work. Side is at its quietest, and its most local.
